Potato man is made with ginger arms, a tomato-top toupee, turnip legs & snow pea mouth. The asparagus are threaded with shishkabob sticks and stuck in the ground.
QUIET ON THE SET! Vegetables - including beans, potatoes, ginger, asparagus, broccoli, kumquats and tomatoes - are carved and assembled.
Making the tomatoes laugh was no laughing matter - as soon I carved out the mouths, they started to lose juice and fall apart!
Kumquat Broccoli trees are photographed from a 'bug's eye-view'
Carrots might be good for your teeth, but AS teeth . . . not so pretty . . .

Bell pepper's bug-eyed look made from blueberry pupils and onion eyes. He can run really fast on those hot pepper legs . . .
This squash keeps mouthing off. His eyes, as well other features on the characters, are made with sculpy, a low temperature ceramic material, then painted.
After assemblage, our cast of characters are posed on their set.
